Tycho – Dive

by Taren

If you’re looking for a soundtrack for a road trip along the coast then look no further than the new instrumental album from SF based electronic producer Tycho (released by Ghostly International). In three words I would describe Tycho’s music as dreamy, downtempo and ambient. Dive puts you in a trance on tracks like the single ‘Hours’ where you get lost in the infectious beat and beautiful melodies. Then you get sucked in with the sound of waves and light guitar plucking on the intro to ‘Coastal Brake’ which later breaks into an indie dance groove. The deep drum beats on ‘Adrift’ show a darker side that stands in contrast with the freshness of ‘Melanine’s’ synths. Upon first listen I was hooked to Dive, this is the kind of album that transports you to your happy place. Put it on repeat.
